POWERCHINA Lays Foundation Stone for Serbian National Football Stadium, Driving Local Development

Power Construction Corporation of China (POWERCHINA) has officially laid the foundation stone for the Serbian National Football Stadium in Belgrade. This project, a major priority for Serbia, is expected to host World Cup and European Cup events, boosting local economic and social development. Additionally, the adjacent Convention and Exhibition Center will host EXPO Belgrade 2027, enhancing Serbia's international trade capabilities.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic expressed his enthusiasm, noting the project's potential to provide top-tier sports facilities and elevate the city's global image. He thanked China for its ongoing support and anticipated the stadium's completion in two and a half years.

POWERCHINA has fostered local talent, employing nearly 1,000 people in Serbia, including 600 locals. Serbian engineer Gordana praised the opportunities provided by POWERCHINA for professional growth and community contribution.

The company is also advancing new energy projects in Serbia, including the Saraorci photovoltaic project, expected to provide 16 million kWh of green power annually, and the Vetrozelena 300 MW wind power station, aiding Serbia's carbon neutrality goals by 2050.

POWERCHINA's commitment to ESG responsibilities includes donating school equipment and providing free health check-ups, significantly contributing to community welfare and sustainable development in Serbia.
