The 34th Education & Careers Expo, organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), is set to take place from 16 to 19 January 2024 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. This highly anticipated event will connect students, job seekers, and professionals with a diverse range of over 820 institutions from 22 countries and regions, offering more than 4,000 job opportunities and comprehensive educational and career resources.

A Comprehensive Platform for Education and Careers

The Expo is divided into “Education” and “Careers” sections, making it an ideal one-stop destination for individuals exploring academic pathways or career advancements. Themed “Go with Your Passion, Go Beyond Limits,” the Expo features four themed days focusing on arts and sports, tourism and hospitality, innovation and technology, and opportunities in the Greater Bay Area.

Free CV Clinic to Boost Career Prospects

For the first time, the Expo introduces a free CV Clinic, providing services such as AI-powered resume enhancement, job matching, one-on-one consultations, and professional resume photo-taking. This initiative aims to help job seekers stand out and secure opportunities with top employers. Visitors are encouraged to pre-register for these services to secure their spots.

Educational Opportunities Across 22 Countries

The Education section offers four distinct zones:

  1. Local Studies Zone
    Showcasing a variety of programmes, including the Bachelor of Science in Applied Gerontology from Tung Wah College, which trains professionals to serve the elderly and contribute to the growing silver economy.
  2. Non-Hong Kong Education Zone
    Featuring consultation services and insights from global institutions across Mainland China, Europe, the Americas, and Asia, this zone is perfect for individuals exploring international academic opportunities.
  3. Lifelong Learning Zone
    Exhibitors like Table for Choices Limited introduce innovative learning models, while others promote continuous education for learners of all ages.
  4. Youth Zone
    A hub for young people seeking internships, summer jobs, and full-time roles, as well as resources for career planning and continuous learning. For the first time, the Prince Philip Dental Hospital will showcase training programmes for dental assistants.

Diverse Career Opportunities and New Initiatives

The Careers section features over 4,000 job openings across various industries, with a strong presence from government departments, public institutions, and private enterprises. Notable participants include the Fire Services Department, Civil Service Bureau, and Immigration Department, as well as organisations from sectors like social welfare, banking, and insurance.

Aviation Corner

This year’s Expo debuts the Aviation Corner, providing aspiring aviation professionals with insights from key players like the Airport Authority Hong Kong.

Recruitment Square

The Recruitment Square enables job seekers to submit resumes and attend on-site interviews. Job seekers should bring updated resumes to make the most of these opportunities.

Enhancing Careers with the CV Clinic

The newly introduced CV Clinic, in collaboration with TechJobAsia, provides:

  • AI-powered resume review and enhancement.
  • Matching resumes with 4,000+ job vacancies from employers at the Expo.
  • One-on-one resume consultations on 17 and 19 January.

Job seekers can also receive free resume photos throughout the Expo courtesy of Jobsdb. Pre-registration is highly recommended for these services as availability is limited.

Themed Days Highlight Career Trends and Industry Prospects

The Expo will host 100+ events, including themed days that explore key industries:

  1. Arts and Sports (16 January)
  2. Tourism and Hospitality (17 January)
    Renowned actor, scriptwriter, and producer Gordon Lam will share insights on career development and creativity.
  3. Innovation and Technology (18 January)
  4. Greater Bay Area Opportunities (19 January)
