With a strong focus on fostering new productive forces, Changzhou aims to attract investments in key sectors, showcasing its confidence in expanding its industrial footprint.

Nine Key Investment Sectors for Global Investors
During the conference, Changzhou announced its strategic focus on nine major sectors, including synthetic biology, the low-altitude economy, intelligent connected new energy vehicles, solid-state batteries, hydrogen energy, third-generation semiconductors, and artificial intelligence. These areas represent cutting-edge industries that will drive future growth, and Changzhou is committed to becoming a global leader in each of them.

Changzhou’s Strategic Location and Manufacturing Excellence
Located in the heart of the Yangtze River Delta, Changzhou has solidified its reputation as an essential base for advanced manufacturing in China. The city has experienced remarkable growth, expanding the added value of its industrial sector to over two trillion yuan, with manufacturing accounting for about 43% of the total. This puts Changzhou among the top three cities in Jiangsu Province in terms of manufacturing output.

Leading the Way in New Energy Development
Changzhou has intensified its efforts to develop the new energy industry, becoming a key player in China’s energy transformation. The city topped the Hurun China New Energy Cities 2024 list, an honor it has held for three consecutive years. This ranking, released by the Hurun Research Institute, highlights Changzhou’s attractiveness to investors and its concentration of new energy projects.

Significant Foreign Investments and New Projects
Since 2020, Changzhou has attracted over $10.59 billion USD (approximately 74.25 billion yuan) in foreign investment. Several major projects, including the soft magnetism initiative by ArcelorMittal and the medical device project by Hong Kong-based BIOS, were officially launched at the conference. These projects are expected to further strengthen Changzhou’s status as a global manufacturing and innovation hub.

Multilingual Guide for Foreign Nationals
In a move to become more international and accessible, Changzhou also unveiled a multilingual guide for foreign nationals at the conference. This guide includes essential information about residency, work, and convenient payment options, making it easier for international professionals to live and work in the city.
As Changzhou continues to open its doors to global investors, the city is positioning itself as a dynamic center for new energy and smart manufacturing, offering abundant opportunities for growth and collaboration.
