BIP Asia Forum and Entrepreneur Day 2024 to Boost IP and Start-up Growth

The 14th BIP Asia Forum, jointly organised by the HKSAR Government and the HKTDC, will be held from 5 to 6 December 2024 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre

The 14th Business of IP Asia Forum (BIP Asia Forum) and the 16th Entrepreneur Day (E-Day) will take place from December 5 to 6, 2024, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. These premier events, jointly organized by the HKSAR Government and HKTDC, promise to showcase cutting-edge opportunities in intellectual property (IP), innovation, and technology, while fostering growth for start-ups and SMEs.

Positioning Hong Kong as a Global Innovation and IP Hub

Aligned with China’s 14th Five-Year Plan, Hong Kong aims to enhance its status as a hub for innovation, technology, and IP trading. According to Stephen Liang, Assistant Executive Director of HKTDC, “The HKTDC is committed to transforming Hong Kong into an international innovation and technology hub, creating new engines for economic growth through IP and entrepreneurship.”

This year’s events bring together over 130 industry leaders and 360 exhibitors, providing a platform for participants to explore opportunities in the Greater Bay Area, ASEAN, and beyond.

BIP Asia Forum: Unlocking the Power of IP

Under the theme “Reimagining IP for Impact and Growth”, the BIP Asia Forum will host 90+ speakers exploring IP’s potential to drive innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic development. Highlights include:

  • Plenary Session: Industry leaders like Michael Moriarty (Hong Kong Disneyland), Guy Riddell (Peninsula Merchandising), and Na Wei (Xiaomi) will share strategies to unlock business success through IP.
  • Global Tech Summit: Focused on the impact of AI across industries like agriculture, Web3, and sports, with insights from experts such as Beatrice Ho (Mushroom-X) and Philip Ng (AI Farming Technology).
  • ASEAN Session: Hosted by the ASEAN Secretariat, this session explores IP in arts and culture, with discussions on the role of content IP in Korean entertainment and webcomics.
  • IP Valuation and Financing: New sessions will delve into leveraging intangible assets for business growth.

More than 40 exhibitors from 10+ countries will present IP solutions, fostering collaboration and innovation.

E-Day: Where Start-up Dreams Take Flight

With the theme “Where Start-up Dreams Take Flight”, Entrepreneur Day 2024 will feature over 320 start-ups and 15 events, showcasing the latest trends in innovation and investment. Highlights include:

  • Pavilions from Thailand and Australia: Key start-ups from Thailand and green tech innovators from Australia explore opportunities in the Greater Bay Area.
  • Start-up Mixer: Connecting young founders and investors to exchange ideas and build partnerships.
  • Inspirational Masterclass: Renowned entrepreneurs like Martin Karafilis and Keith Jackson will share strategies for success in the AI era.

Additionally, the InnoClub Award Presentation Ceremony will recognize outstanding achievements in innovation and technology.

Concurrent Events to Enhance Synergy

The concurrent DesignInspire event, running from December 5 to 7, will bring together global design stars to inspire collaboration between designers, start-ups, and investors. The synergy among BIP Asia Forum, E-Day, and DesignInspire aims to generate more business opportunities for participants.
