The second China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) is scheduled from November 26-30, 2024, in Beijing, marking a pivotal event in the global supply chain landscape. Organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), this year’s expo will host nearly 500 enterprises, with over 30% being foreign-funded firms—an increase from the previous year. The event aims to strengthen global supply chains by fostering cooperation and addressing challenges such as geopolitical tensions, protectionism, and economic fragmentation.

A Platform for Global Collaboration

The CISCE is the world's first national-level exhibition dedicated to supply chains. It will cover over 100,000 square meters and provide a platform for companies from various sectors to connect and collaborate. The expo will bring together enterprises, academia, industry experts, and policymakers to explore solutions for stabilizing and enhancing global supply chains. The focus areas include high-end manufacturing, new energy vehicles, and sustainable development.

Addressing Global Economic Challenges

As the global economy faces challenges from the COVID-19 pandemic, geopolitical tensions, and rising protectionism, the CISCE seeks to provide a forum for addressing these issues. The expo will emphasize the importance of open economies and international cooperation in building resilient supply chains. With China’s commitment to globalization and open trade, the CISCE aims to inject new momentum into global economic recovery.

China's Role in Global Supply Chains

Since China began its reform and opening-up policy over four decades ago, it has become a central hub in the global economy. The CISCE is part of China's broader efforts to enhance international trade and cooperation. Despite the challenges of recent years, China remains committed to fostering global trade and strengthening supply chains, as evidenced by its role as the main trading partner for over 140 countries and regions.

Looking Ahead: Opportunities at CISCE 2024

The second China International Supply Chain Expo will offer participants the chance to explore new business opportunities, attract foreign direct investment, and improve global supply chains. The expo's four key functions—boosting trade, encouraging investment, driving innovation, and promoting knowledge exchange—are designed to support the steady recovery of the global economy and ensure more robust and interconnected supply chains.
