Themed “Smart and Digital Energy for Tomorrow,” this year’s expo highlighted groundbreaking advancements in energy technology and fostered global discussions on the future of the digital energy sector.

Key Exhibitions and Innovations at IDEE 2024
The expo hosted seven major exhibition areas focusing on Electric Power Systems, Energy Storage, New Energy, Core Components of Energy Storage, Digitalization in Energy, Energy Support Services, and International Pavilions. Renowned companies such as Southern Power Grid, BYD, Huawei, and Tencent demonstrated their cutting-edge innovations.
Huawei Technologies took center stage by unveiling its Global Smart Microgrid Solution, which is recognized as the world’s largest intelligent photovoltaic system, poised to revolutionize smart energy networks. BYD emphasized the significance of integrated microgrid solutions that combine photovoltaic energy, storage, and charging stations, critical for advancing global energy development and achieving carbon neutrality.
Tencent Cloud showcased its intelligent platform for the new energy industry chain, leveraging its “1+7+N” digital technology advantage. Meanwhile, Southern Power Grid revealed new AI innovations, including Da Watt, an NLP (Natural Language Processing) model designed to enhance intelligent power applications.

Shenzhen Leads the Way in Digital Energy Transformation
At the opening ceremony, Shenzhen’s Digital Pioneer City Construction Plan (2024-2030) was unveiled, reinforcing the city’s commitment to leading the digital energy revolution. Shenzhen has already achieved remarkable milestones in building its digital energy infrastructure, including establishing ten high-quality power supply zones and 550 supercharging stations, surpassing the number of traditional gas stations.
With more than 70% of vehicles in Shenzhen now powered by new energy, the city also led the world in conducting the first Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) commercialization test. This innovative technology promises to enhance urban resilience by providing power solutions during extreme weather conditions, solidifying Shenzhen’s status as a trailblazer in sustainable urban energy solutions.

The expo’s main forum, titled “Digital New Technology – The Future of New Energy,” brought together industry experts and leaders from across the globe. Through keynote speeches and roundtable discussions, participants explored the latest trends and emerging opportunities in the digital transformation of the energy sector.
Discussions also covered crucial topics such as the digitalization of energy, new power systems, energy storage technology, and industrial investment and financing. These sessions fostered valuable knowledge exchange, aimed at promoting global low-carbon industry development and advancing sustainability goals worldwide.
