Xiaohongshu, China’s leading lifestyle platform, is hosting the second annual Xiaohongshu Street Life Festival in Shanghai, bridging online and offline experiences. The festival kicked off on August 23rd with the unveiling of its 20-meter-tall mascot, "Duck on the Street," along the Huangpu River. This giant installation, symbolizing happiness and creativity, draws inspiration from the Citywalk trend that emerged in Shanghai in 2023. The festival, a key event of "Shanghai Summer," runs from August 23rd to September 1st and features over 200 activities, including cultural events, fashion shows, and food tours across newly decorated streets in Shanghai.

Highlights of the Second Xiaohongshu Street Life Festival

Running alongside the Huangpu River, the second Xiaohongshu Street Life Festival presents a central market and five curated streets with new decorations, creating a vibrant summer atmosphere. Over 200 themed activities are planned, including the Sunset Concert, Look Up Art Exhibition, Breezy Market, and the Street Food and Fun Tour, reflecting the rich and open urban culture of Shanghai.

Expanding the Festival’s Global Appeal

Xiaohongshu's Marketing Director, Bai Ban, shared that the festival has invited over 500 creators from both domestic and international backgrounds, aiming to attract a global audience. The festival is designed to boost local consumption, energize youth culture, and contribute to Shanghai's reputation as a vibrant urban brand.

Positive Impact on Local Businesses and Tourism

Last year’s festival drew over 200,000 participants, significantly boosting foot traffic for participating businesses and enhancing the city’s cultural appeal. This year’s event is expected to bring similar benefits, offering both locals and tourists a chance to enjoy Shanghai's unique blend of culture, art, and commerce.

Celebrating Shanghai’s Urban Culture

The second Xiaohongshu Street Life Festival not only celebrates Shanghai’s dynamic urban culture but also reinforces the city's role as a center for creative and cultural exchange. By seamlessly integrating online and offline experiences, the festival is poised to become a must-attend event for those looking to experience the heart of Shanghai’s vibrant lifestyle.
