Zhejiang province, a key economic hub in China, has launched the 2025 ‘Picturesque Zhejiang’ storytelling show targeting international audiences. The event focuses on themes of intelligence, innovation, and the future, building on previous editions in 2023 and 2024. It encourages foreign participants to produce short videos that depict Zhejiang’s cultural heritage, technological advancements, and the fusion of tourism with modern development.
Participants are required to submit videos approximately three minutes long, recorded in their native languages with Chinese and English subtitles. The submission window runs from October to November 2025, with a deadline of November 20. Videos must be named in a specific format and sent to a designated email address for entry.
Awards and Incentives for Participants
After the submission period, an organizing committee will evaluate the entries and award prizes to standout contributors. Select participants may be invited to attend an offline award ceremony in Zhejiang. As an additional incentive, the committee plans to organize experiential tours for top entrants, focusing on inbound tourism to key sites such as technology firms, cultural institutions, and innovation parks.
These tours are designed to provide firsthand exposure to Zhejiang’s achievements in digital technology, cultural creativity, and the blending of traditional and contemporary elements. This initiative aligns with Zhejiang’s strategy to enhance its global image and attract international interest in its economic and cultural sectors.
The storytelling show underscores Zhejiang’s broader efforts to leverage its cultural heritage and innovation-driven policies to stimulate growth. By engaging foreigners in content creation, the province aims to amplify its narrative on the global stage, potentially influencing trade and investment flows into the region.
