The 21st China International Agricultural Trade Fair (CATF) commenced on November 28, 2024, in Guangzhou, focusing on comprehensive rural revitalization. Spanning over 100,000 square meters with 12 exhibition halls, the four-day event is held concurrently with the Guangdong Modern Agriculture Expo, showcasing branded agricultural products from Guangdong province.
As the host city, Guangzhou has established exhibition areas dedicated to smart agriculture, modern urban agriculture industry chains, and branded local products, highlighting recent achievements in agriculture, rural development, and farmers’ welfare. Notable local specialties on display include Zengcheng late choy sum, known as the “King of Choy Sum,” giant mud crab, referred to as the “Noble in Crabs,” and long-grain rice, esteemed as the “Jade in Rice.”
This year’s CATF emphasizes brand-driven growth, rural assistance, and smart agriculture. The event features over 30 brand promotional activities, involving nearly 60 regional public brands and approximately 200 enterprise brands. For the first time, an exhibition space dedicated to rural revitalization has been established, focusing on family farms, assisting workshops, and rural craftsmen to showcase industrial development achievements in areas lifted out of poverty. Additionally, a smart agriculture area displays the latest applications of technologies like big data and artificial intelligence in agriculture and rural sectors.
Kazakhstan has been invited as the guest of honor country, with more countries and international organizations welcomed to participate, underscoring CATF‘s commitment to international cooperation in agriculture.
