Eco Expo Asia 2024: Showcasing Global Innovations for Carbon Neutrality

[cs_content _p=’8226′][cs_element_section _id=”1″ ][cs_element_layout_row _id=”2″ ][cs_element_layout_column _id=”3″ ][cs_element_text _id=”4″ ][cs_content_seo]The 19th edition of Eco Expo Asia 2024, co-organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, and supported by the Environment and Ecology Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), is set to take place from October 30 to November 2, 2024, at AsiaWorld-Expo. The event will feature more than 300 exhibitors from 11 countries, showcasing innovations aimed at fostering green development and achieving carbon neutrality. The last day of the Expo will be free to the public, promoting eco-friendly living.
To enhance connectivity for global participants, Click2Match, the virtual business matching platform, will be available from October 23 to November 9, offering a seamless way for exhibitors and buyers to engage.

Innovations for Carbon Neutrality
HKTDC Assistant Executive Director Jenny Koo emphasized that as nations push for carbon reduction, Eco Expo Asia 2024 will serve as a key platform for industry professionals to share innovations that support sustainable development. With the theme “Fostering Green Innovations for Carbon Neutrality,” the Expo will highlight cutting-edge solutions in areas like green energy, waste management, and circular economy.
Fong Kin-wa, Deputy Director of the HKSAR Environmental Protection Department, stressed the Expo’s importance in promoting green transformation and fostering international collaboration, especially among Belt and Road and ASEAN countries.

Diverse International Exhibitors
Eco Expo Asia 2024 will feature pavilions from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Germany, Finland, Norway, and more. Several regions, including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Anhui, will display advanced technologies in air quality and water management. The Canada Pavilion will showcase innovative carbon capture solutions, while the Green Transportation Zone will feature electric and hydrogen-powered vehicles from companies like GMI Motors Ltd and Xiamen Golden Dragon Bus Co. Ltd.

Three Key Focus Areas

Green Energy and Green Transportation: Cutting-edge green energy solutions, including Hong Kong’s first hydrogen-powered street-cleaning vehicle, will be showcased, alongside fast-charging electric vehicle technologies.

Waste Management and Circular Economy: This year’s Expo will highlight innovations such as sustainable fish farming and food waste biodegradation technologies, which are gaining momentum in the fight against waste.

ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) Services: Leading certification firms such as SGS Hong Kong and Intertek will introduce their ESG consulting and big data-driven tools for generating compliance-ready reports, reflecting the growing demand for sustainability reporting.

Supporting Green Start-ups
Eco Expo Asia continues to be a hub for start-ups in the green sector. Exhibitors like Ezygreenpak Ltd and BSF Innovation Ltd will showcase eco-friendly materials and innovations such as water-soluble packaging and sustainable building products made from insect shells.

Public Engagement on Final Day
On November 2, the public is invited to attend free seminars and workshops focused on green living. A key highlight will be the Dialogue with the Secretary for Environment and Ecology, aimed at educating school students on combating extreme weather conditions.
