The 22nd China International Agricultural Trade Fair recently commenced in Tianjin Municipality, where representatives from Tianjin, Jilin Province, and Guangdong Province unveiled a joint proposal aimed at strengthening agricultural exchanges and cooperation. Under the proposal, the three regions plan to develop dynamic industry maps and eliminate data barriers in monitoring agricultural product market prices across regional markets. By harnessing data, the effort aims to empower corporate decision-making, better match supply and demand, and ensure the smooth and efficient flow of agricultural products, which could bolster food security and market stability in China.
Enhancing Factor Mobility and Innovation
Efforts will also focus on promoting the inter-regional flow of key production factors such as technology, capital, and data. By leveraging the factor resource trading platforms of the three regions and the policy advantages of pilot free trade zones and bonded areas, the collaboration seeks to reduce the costs of factor mobility and innovation, thereby boosting market vitality and supporting China’s broader economic integration goals.
