This new air freight service, operating twice a week, aims to enhance Cainiao’s cross-border delivery capacity between China and Europe ahead of the peak shopping season.
The inaugural flight, operated by a Boeing 767-300F freighter, departed from Xi’an, carrying over 50 tons of cross-border e-commerce goods. This shipment included more than 150,000 parcels destined for various locations across Europe. Upon arrival at Cainiao’s Liège eHub, the goods are quickly processed through customs clearance, sorted, and dispatched for delivery to destinations such as Spain, France, Germany, and other European countries.
The seamless integration of Cainiao’s “air-to-ground” transportation model ensures faster and more reliable delivery. By leveraging this efficient process, Cainiao can offer cross-border merchants consistent and cost-effective logistics solutions, improving delivery times and overall customer satisfaction.
“This newly launched chartered flight marks a significant step forward in Cainiao’s commitment to building a robust and resilient global logistics network,” said William Xiong, Vice President of Cainiao Group. “By expanding our airfreight capabilities, we are providing our merchants with faster and more cost-effective shipping solutions, while also ensuring that consumers receive their orders on time and with the best quality.”

Enhancing Cainiao’s Europe Network
This new Xi’an-Liège flight route is part of Cainiao’s larger strategy to strengthen its European logistics network. Over recent years, Cainiao has heavily invested in developing its smart regional eHub at Liège Airport, which has become a critical node in its global operations. This eHub connects China-Europe chartered flights and is further supported by Cainiao’s extensive intra-European trucking network, which spans over 30 countries.
The addition of this dedicated air freight route will play a crucial role in providing Cainiao’s cross-border merchants with reliable shipping options and enhancing the overall cross-border logistics experience for customers across Europe.

Supporting Global E-commerce Growth
As global e-commerce continues to grow, Cainiao’s expansion into Europe with the Xi’an-Liège flight is a strategic move to support increased demand during key shopping seasons. The company’s enhanced logistics network will not only ensure timely delivery during these peak periods but will also provide businesses with the infrastructure needed to handle the growing volume of cross-border orders.
Cainiao’s smart logistics system integrates advanced technology to streamline processes and optimize delivery efficiency. This commitment to innovation is part of Cainiao’s broader mission to redefine logistics standards and unlock new market opportunities for merchants worldwide.
The launch of Cainiao’s Xi’an to Liège chartered flight route represents a significant enhancement to its global logistics network, further enabling the company to provide faster, more reliable, and cost-effective cross-border delivery solutions. As Cainiao continues to expand its capabilities and reach, this new flight route will serve as a vital link between China and Europe, meeting the rising demand for seamless e-commerce logistics services across the continent.\n\n[/cs_content_seo][/cs_element_layout_column][/cs_element_layout_row][/cs_element_section][/cs_content]
