The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) has kicked off a series of major exhibitions at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, running from August 15-19, 2024. These events include the HKTDC Food Expo, HKTDC Beauty & Wellness Expo, and HKTDC Home Delights Expo, alongside Food Expo PRO and the Hong Kong International Tea Fair. The International Conference of the Modernization of Chinese Medicine and Health Products (ICMCM) is also being held in parallel, focusing on collaboration between industry, universities, and research institutions.
This year, the exhibitions feature an impressive lineup of over 1,860 exhibitors from 30 countries and regions. The diverse range of exhibitors will showcase a variety of global delicacies, health and wellness products, and home improvement innovations. The exhibitions also introduce four themed days— "Delights Across Mainland China," "Happy Friday," "Japan & Korea Express," and "Wellness Weekend"—each providing unique experiences that cater to different interests, from culinary adventures to health and wellness insights.
"Delights Across Mainland China" on August 15 offers visitors a chance to explore the rich culinary traditions of Mainland China. Activities include cooking demonstrations, food tastings, and exhibitions of traditional Chinese delicacies like Fo Tiao Qiang and Sichuan cuisine.
"Happy Friday" on August 16 will bring a festive atmosphere with a focus on fine wines and gourmet food, offering visitors exclusive tasting sessions and live mixology shows.
"Japan & Korea Express" on August 17 immerses attendees in the vibrant cultures of Japan and Korea through performances, workshops, and a showcase of popular Japanese and Korean foods and products.
"Wellness Weekend," spanning August 17-18, focuses on physical and mental well-being, featuring workshops on latte art, sand art performances, and health-focused activities like sports therapy and traditional Chinese medicine insights.
In addition to these events, the ICMCM will delve into the theme of "The Industry-University-Research Collaboration and Clinical Research on Traditional Medicine," with 18 keynote speakers sharing their expertise on the latest trends and developments in Chinese medicine.
