The 2025 Global Artificial Intelligent Machines and Electronics Expo (AIE) commenced on December 4 at the Macao Venetian Convention and Exhibition Center, with simultaneous events in Zhuhai. Hosted by the China Electronics Chamber of Commerce (CECC), the expo attracted attendance from key officials including Cen Haohui, Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR), Meng Fanli, Governor of Guangdong Province, and Zheng Xincong, Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR.
Expo Themes and Venues
Under the theme “Bay Area Intelligence, globally embraced,” the expo drew over 1,000 enterprises from China and abroad. The Macao venue focused on intelligent electronics, featuring three themed halls: Intelligent Communication and IoT, Intelligent Audio-Visual and Metaverse, and Venture Capital New Concept and International Exhibition. In contrast, the Zhuhai venue emphasized intelligent machinery, with halls dedicated to Intelligent Equipment and Industrial Internet, Intelligent Transportation and Future Mobility, and Smart Home and Wellness.
Keynote Forum and White Paper Release
A keynote forum followed the opening ceremony, with speeches from notable figures such as Dan Shechtman, Nobel Prize in Chemistry laureate, and Wang Zhonglin, Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). The forum also saw the release of the white paper titled ‘Development of Global Intelligent Machinery and Electronic Products Industry: Wisdom Initiates the Future,’ highlighting trends in the global industrial chain.
Macao Innovation and Technology Showcase
The “Macao Innovation and Technology” section at the Macao venue garnered significant attention, showcasing over 50 technology innovation enterprises and four institutions of higher education from Macao. This area displayed scientific research and industrialization achievements in fields like artificial intelligence, smart healthcare, and the Internet of Things (IoT), with multiple thematic events scheduled throughout the expo.
Organizational Support and Objectives
Guided by the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province and the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Guangdong Province, the expo is organized by the CECC. Wang Ning, President of the CECC, emphasized the expo’s goal to serve as a communication platform for the global electronic products and intelligent manufacturing sectors, aiming to foster enterprise integration into the global industrial chain and enhance international cooperation. The event ran until December 6, supporting the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
