The China Shanghai International Children’s Book Fair (CCBF) is a premier event showcasing illustrated books, children’s literature, non-fiction, sports and hobbies books, educational materials, and various services. Approved by the Shanghai Press & Publication Administration and organized by Shanghai Xinhua Distribution Group Co., Ltd., China Education Publishing & Media Group Ltd., and China Universal Press & Publication Co., Ltd., with co-organization by Ronbo BolognaFiere Shanghai Ltd., CCBF has been a significant event in the global publishing industry since its launch in 2013.
CCBF is the leading fair in the Asia-Pacific region dedicated to children’s books and content. Over its ten-year history, the fair has become a crucial hub for children’s book copyrights, marketing solutions, and cross-industry collaborations. It plays a vital role in promoting quality children’s literature and fostering a reading culture among young children. Since 2018, CCBF has partnered with the Bologna Children’s Book Fair (BCBF), the world’s largest children’s literature fair, to enhance its international reach and support China’s publishing strategy of “going global, bringing in.”
In 2023, CCBF welcomed 478 leading publishers and children’s content creators from 25 countries and regions, including 155 international companies and 323 key Chinese publishers. The event attracted 42,733 visitors over three days, with 19,086 professional attendees.
Beyond the exhibition, CCBF offers a rich program of events, including the Conference & Seminars, the Golden Pinwheel Young Illustrators Competition, the Illustrator Survival Corner, the Illustrators Avenue, the Children Plus Exhibition, and more, all aimed at promoting reading and literacy.
